This node is used to set up basic definitions of appendages, which are required (in varying degrees) for all of the hydrodynamic calculations:

  • Powering calculations require the wetted surface area of each appendage together with individual resistance factors for the calculation of appendage resistance. In addition, a bow thruster can be defined to include additional resistance factors.

  • Manoeuvring calculations require rudder particulars such as plan-form area, turn rate,

  • Seakeeping calculations require bilge keel and stabiliser fin dimensions for additional roll damping contributions.
