Data Storage

On establishing a new Calc design, within a project, a Calc data file (CALC) is created within the project. This is accompanied by a copy of the master criteria file.

The hull plus compartmentation geometry model is input from a Calculation Geometry design (an CXML file), or from a facet file (FCT), GDS or other supported calculation geometry data file. Once imported into the design, the geometry model is copied and becomes embedded in the CALC file and the original geometry data file is no longer required for the pursuance of the particular design.

However, if the Calculation Geometry is released once more, for example by AVEVA Initial Design Geometry Surface/Compartment, then the Calc User is prompted, upon opening this design, to update the Calculation Geometry within Calc. Thus, updates to the compartmentation, etc, made within Surface/Compartment, may be automatically updated within Calc.
