BSRA Methodical Series

The BSRA Methodical Series uses an analysis of Methodical Series Experiments on Single-Screw Ocean-Going Merchant-Ship Forms published by the British Shipbuilding Research Association in 1971, see References 6. The BSRA charts enable the bare hull resistance of a hullform to be readily determined for any block coefficient, beam-draught ratio, length-displacement ratio and LCB position within the scope of the series, which is as shown below:

A value of model scale CircC is found from the BSRA charts which is then converted into an actual model scale bare hull resistance.
