Compartment Tree View

  • Last UpdatedFeb 02, 2023
  • 2 minute read

A specialized tree view listing only envelopes and their associated internal structure. The internal surfaces and compartments are listed under the appropriate parent envelope.

The image to the left of an object’s ID is used to indicate the Calculation Geometry state (used in Release) of an element. An item is selected or de-selected by clicking the box with the mouse.

The current working envelope is indicated by it’s ID being displayed in red and associated patch image appearing as , rather than .

The tree can be used for Drag and Drop functions the same as the Full View Tree. Additionally internal structure can be dragged from one envelope to another, causing it to be regenerated for it’s new parent. (This is the equivalent of using the /REPLACE qualifier in the Envelope command.)

A pop-up menu allows various operations to be performed on the selected objects. The available options are listed below:

SET ENVELOPE

Sets the selected envelope as the current envelope.

EDIT...

Opens the Appropriate dialog to edit the selected items (internals only). If more than one object type is selected, the object type of the first selection is used.

REGENERATE

This gives the following options:

SELECTED

Regenerates the selected components in the tree; be they envelopes, transverses, longitudinals, decks or compartments.

NEEDED ONLY

Regenerates only those components (envelopes, transverses, longitudinals, decks and compartments) in the design which need regenerating.

ALL

Regenerates all internal structural components (transverses, longitudinals, decks or compartments) in the design after first regenerating the envelopes.

TOPOLOGY

Displays the topology information ("creation recipe") of any selected patches or internals, in the Output Window.

CALC STATUS

This gives the following options:

TOGGLE

Toggle the current Calculation Geometry status (used for Release to Hydrostatics) for all the selected objects.

ON

Set the Calculation Geometry status (used for Release to Hydrostatics) for all the selected objects to on.

OFF

Set the Calculation Geometry status (used for Release to Hydrostatics) for all the selected objects to off.

LIST CALC GEOM

List those elements marked for Calculation Geometry release in the Output Window.

RELEASE CALC GEOM

Used to Release all the marked Calculation Geometry (that means, state on) for use in Hydrostatics.

EXPORT VRML...

Used to export a VRML file (includes all envelopes and compartments marked for release).
