Tree Menu Commands

These commands are in the context of the User-selected application node.

TREE \ NEW NODE

This enables a User to add a new node to the application-scope of the overall tree. Depending on the application node selected you can either duplicate a capability or add a capability that was not in the original selection that was made on opening the new project. The associated report pages are also set-up by this action.

TREE \ EDIT

This enables you to input data and to change data that was previously input and many task-oriented dialogs are involved. With the exception of the input of the hull geometry model this is the only method for the input of data. It is also to be noted that inputting or editing data, through the Various Data dialogs that the system presents to you, does not result in the data being added to or changed within the corresponding report pages. As noted above in TREE\CALCULATE, report pages are only created or up-dated with current data following a calculate command.

This facility also enables a User to uniquely name an activity and the resulting report pages, changing as and where required from the default name that Calc automatically assumes. This enables a User to, for example, uniquely name otherwise duplicated tasks within the overall tree, a typical example being to define different operational deadweight conditions.

TREE \ CALCULATE and RECALCULATE

This enables you to initiate all calculations at the selected node point and at all applications on the branch from that node point. There is no dialog involved following the User-selection of this command. Calc will only undertake the calculations, for any individual task, if the required data is complete, thus any calculations that are not up-to-date with the current input will also be processed. When the calculations have been completed Calc then updates the corresponding report pages with both the results, in the form of tables and graphs where relevant, and the current input data.

For obvious reasons there are no calculations associated with information that is included within a note.

TREE \ STOP CALCULATION

This enables you to interrupt the current calculation.

TREE \ SET PAGE NO...

This enables you to set the first page number of a report.

TREE \ LOCK and UNLOCK

This enables the lock/unlock the current node which disables/enables calculations for that node.

TREE \ TOGGLE PRINTING

Toggle Printing allows you to flag nodes for selective printing. Selecting the option will cause the printing state of the selected branch of the tree, to be toggled, that means, if print was enabled it will be disabled and visa-versa. The colours of the tree icon, will be greyed out, if printing is disabled.

TREE \ DELETE NODE

This enables a User to delete a node, together with the associated sub-nodes and report pages, from the tree.
