Function:

Specifies the coordinate system to be used for showing 3D positions on drawings.

Description:

By default, all spatial coordinates on isometrics are given in the World coordinate system. The AXES command allows you to specify a different coordinate system for the isometric. You can use the origin of any database element which has an origin.

Each owning element (Site, Zone ) in a design project has its own coordinate system for locating the elements it owns. The coordinates of an element are usually defined with respect to its owner, and these coordinates are not normally the same as World coordinates.

Examples:

AXES /SITE_PIPE-2

All coordinates to be referred to the origin of site SITE_PIPE-2.

AXES WORLD

Resets to the default of the World coordinates.

Command Syntax:

>--- AXES --- <gid> --->

Querying:

Q AXES

Q OPTions

Note:
To minimize inaccuracies when performing calculations using very large coordinates, Isodraft performs all its calculations relative to the origin of the Zone that owns the first Branch in the detail list. Thus when creating piping a great distance from the World origin, it is beneficial to move the Zone origin first, to a position local to where the piping will be created. (If the Zone origin is at the World origin, no benefit will be gained by this approach.)
