Use the Intersect Tab
-
Select the Intersect tab which is used to create either a Pline, tangent or knuckle 3D curve by intersecting one or more Clines (2D curves) with the orthogonal curves.

-
Select either Pline, Knuckle or Tangent from the Curve Type dropdown list and enter a name for the curve to be created in the Name edit box.
-
Select the Cline or Clines to intersect from the Cline list.
-
Choose the sets of orthogonal curves that the Clines will be intersected with, by switching on the required check boxes (Sections, Waterlines, Buttocks) in the With panel.
-
(Optional) Limit the intersection by providing a Lower and Upper limit. All points outside the given limits will be discarded. If the cline view is Section, then the intersection can be limited to the Flat of Side or Flat of Bottom, in addition to absolute X values. Finally click the Create button.
-
The selected Clines will be intersected with all of the chosen orthogonal curves (sections, waterlines and buttocks) that are switched on, therefore if only the aft or forebody curves are to be used then the other curves should be switched off via the Select Curves dialog.
If during intersection two curves are found to have overlapping portions, then the algorithm may take more time.
In this case, a message will be displayed on the status bar and the user may cancel the intersection by clicking on the stop icon on the status bar,
.
