Create Floor Elevation

  • To create a floor elevation, select Create > Floor Elevation on the Floor Elevation Tasks window to display the Create Floor Elevation window.

The Create Floor Elevation window allows the user to set the attributes, location and geometry of the Floor Elevation and create the corresponding Building Level (BLEVEL) element in the database.

New Floor Elevation

Name

Enter an appropriate Name.

Description

Enter an appropriate Description.

Function

Enter an appropriate Function.

Area

Set the Area using the spin box.

Location

Angle from Building Block Y axis

Set angle using the spin box.

Elevation

Enter a value for the elevation.

XY Offset from Building Block

X

Enter a value for X in the field.

Y

Enter a value for Y in the field.

Defaults

Floor Height

Set the default height for the floor.

Ceiling Height

Set default height for the ceiling.

Geometry

Default height

Set the default height for the floor elevation.

Use owning Building Block

geometry

Select checkbox to use the Building Block geometry for the floor elevation.

Define Floor Elevation

geometry

Displays the Define Floor Elevation Boundary window allowing the user to set the boundary.

Create Floor Elevation

Creates a BLEVEL element in the database and displays the Modify Floor Elevation window.

Back to Floor Elevation tasks

Displays the Floor Elevation Tasks window.

Back to Building Block tasks

Displays the Building Block Tasks window.

Define Floor Elevation Boundary

The Define Floor Elevation Boundary window allows the user to select a shape for the Floor Elevation boundary, and set the dimensions and origin point of the boundary.

  1. Clicking Define Floor Elevation geometry on the Create Floor Elevation window displays the Define Floor Elevation Boundary window.

    Shapes

    Select a shape from the drop-down list.

    Dimensions

    Enter values in the appropriate boxes.

    Origin

    Origin point

    Set using the spin box.

    Derive Methods

    Pick Corner Points

    Allows the user to graphically pick the corner points. The option varies depending on which shape is selected.

    Define Boundary

    Sets the boundary and displays the Create Floor Elevation window.

    Return

    Returns the user to the Create Floor Elevation window.

  2. Clicking Define Boundary returns the user back to the Create Floor Elevation window, which updates to indicate that the geometry has been defined.
