Create Floor Covering

To create a floor covering, select Create > Floor Covering on the Main Floor Covering Tasks window to display the Create Floor Covering window.

The Create Floor Covering window allows the user to set the general attributes and location of the Floor Covering and define its geometry.

Enter the attributes Name, Description, Function and Number in the appropriate fields. |

Set angle using the spin box. |

Angle from horizontal |
Set angle using the spin box. |

Offset above Building Block |
Populated with default value. Enter a different value if required. |

Floor Covering Offset |

Enter a value for X in the field. |

Enter a value for Y in the field. |

Design Criteria |

Colour Schema |
Select a Schema from the drop-down list. |

Fire Rating |
Select a Rating from the drop-down list. |

Floor Covering Type |
Select a Type, for example, Carpeted, Wooden from the drop-down list. |

Floor Covering Code |
Select a Code from the drop-down list. |

Geometry |

Use owning ELEMENT geometry |
Select checkbox to use owning ELEMENT geometry for the Floor Covering. |

Define Floor Covering geometry |
Displays the Define Floor Covering Boundary window. Populated once the Floor Covering geometry has been defined. |

Create Floor Covering |
Actions the creation of the Floor Covering and displays the Floor Layer Definition window. |

Back to main Floor Covering tasks |
Displays the Main Floor Covering Tasks window. |

Return to main tasks |
Displays the Main Detailing Tasks window. |
Define Floor Covering Boundary

Selecting Define Floor Covering geometry on the Create Floor Covering window displays the Define Floor Covering Boundary window.

Using the Define Floor Covering Boundary window, the user can select a shape for the boundary and set the dimensions and origin point.
The appearance of the window depends on the shape selected.
Shapes
Select a boundary shape from the drop-down list.
Dimensions
Enter the appropriate dimensions for the selected boundary shape.
Origin
Origin point
Set an Origin point using the spin box.
Derive Methods
Pick Corner Points
Allows the user to pick the corner points of a rectangular boundary in the 3D View. The Derive Method varies according to the shape selected.
Define Boundary
Applies the boundary definition.
Return
Displays the Create Floor Covering window.

With the Create Floor Covering window populated, clicking Create Floor Covering displays the Floor Layer Definition window.
