Project material is represented in the manufacturing database by an element that specifies the properties of the material and individual elements for each instance of the material. Plates and profiles are defined in the same way, but have elements definitions with properties that are specific to the type of material. The elements belonging to a unit are placed in a folder below a manufacturing package with manufacturing data for that specific unit. The project pool package is an element of its own named FMTRPO. Project material not specifically assigned to a unit are placed here. The existents of an element for project pool material (the FMTRPO element) is necessary if project materials shall be used. It must be added using generic syntax for new elements in the command window, for example,:
NEW FMTRPO /ProjMtrl
The picture below shows the FMTRPO element added:

Once the project material element has been added, materials can be added and assigned to specific units. The pictures below shows profile and plate specifications and instances of these materials assigned to a specific unit (block in this case):

Note: The properties that define the material are picked up by the referenced catalogue item (RprRef respective RplRef), but are only available as read-only data.
The specification in the hierarchy, the instances of the raw material, can be found as illustrated below:

The element FPRJIN is common for instances of both profile and plate type. The availability of the instance is controlled by the attribute "Avbity", which can have values Available, Consumed, Reserved or Proposed. If set to Consumed, then a nested plate or profile is referencing the raw material instance. Furthermore, the instance can be given a unique id that links into the used ERM system.
Rest materials (remnants) can be created as a result of a nesting process. These raw materials are stored in the same unit (or in the project pool) and is referencing the raw material from which it is a remnant. The rest material is getting the same properties, but has its own definition of size and shape.
