Miter Selected Sections allows you can miter the ends of two sections such that their cut planes are parallel to the angle bisector (the miter plane), or miter a section to a panel such that the cut plane is parallel to the surface of the Panel. (The miter plane).

To miter two sections

  1. Click Miter Selected Sections.

You are prompted to Pick first element to miter.

  2. Pick the element in the 3D graphical view.

You are then prompted to Pick second element to miter.

  3. Pick the element in the 3D graphical view.

The two sections are extended to meet at the miter plane and have their cut planes re-orientated.

  4. Alternatively, pick a section end and a panel so that the section end is extended to meet the panel and have its cut plane re-orientated to the plane of the panel.

Note: You can only miter a section end which is not already connected to a structure. If you want to miter a connected end, you must first disconnect it.

When selecting the sections to miter, the location of the pick points and the arrangement of the sections relative to each other have a bearing on the resultant mitring.

When a section is miterd to the plane of the panel, it must intersect the panel within the boundary of its loop otherwise the mitring operation is cancelled.
