Used to create an arbitrarily shaped spline or polyline (straight line segments) from all the data points entered in the dialog.

Create a Spline or Polyline

  1. Enter the Curve Name Prefix.

This will be used to form the curve name.

  2. Indicate if the curve is to be closed in Close Line.

That means, the last data point given will automatically be connected to the first.

  3. The points are entered in either cartesian (U & V) or polar (Radius & Angle) coordinates.

That means, angular distance and the corresponding radius. On switching between the two types a conversion is performed.

  4. Enter and edit points via the available spreadsheet,

By default, this spreadsheet has 10 points listed ready for editing.

Points can be read in from a file containing a list of coordinate pairs, by clicking Import... and selecting the required file.

The spreadsheet has a pop-up menu with the following options: COPY, PASTE, INSERT and DELETE, to help facilitate editing. If no current points exist (or no point is selected) then the pop-up will only show INSERT (adding a new point at the beginning or end respectively).

  5. Ensure that all unwanted points are deleted.

  6. Select Apply.

A curve is generated using all the points defined.
