Guldhammer & Harvald

The Guldhammer & Harvald method uses formulae and data published in References 3 to calculate the model scale bare hull resistance, the total resistance being subdivided as follows:

frictional resistance according to the ITTC 1957 model-ship correlation line.

standard residuary resistance for parent form.

correction in resistance due to B/T variation.

correction in resistance due to LCB variation.

correction in resistance due to hullform variation.

correction in resistance due to bulb variation.

The Guldhammer & Harvald method is most appropriate for normal displacement vessels.
