Pipe Spool Drawing Administration

You can carry out administrative tasks for the drawing template from the Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window available within the Draft module.

  1. Exit the Design - Pipework application and enter the Draft module. To access the administration options available to Draft, from the Draft main menu, select Draft > Administration.

  2. To access the Drawing Templates Administration options, from the displayed menu, select Draft > Drawing Template Admin > Configure > Pipe Spool Drawing Admin. The Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window is displayed.

  3. To define the drawing element (DRWG) for the created pipe spool drawing, from the Pipe Spool Drawing drop-down list, select the drawing template.

  4. To define the Backing Sheet Ref for the created spool drawing, from the Backing Sheet Ref drop-down list, select the reference backing sheet.

  5. To create or modify the view of the pipe spool drawing, select Create / Modify View. The Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window changes to display the Create / Modify View options.

  6. To create or modify the text of the pipe spool drawing, select Create / Modify Text. The Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window changes to display the Create / Modify View options. Refer to Create / Modify Text for further information,

  7. Click Dismiss to discard any inputs and close the Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window.

Create / Modify View

You can use the Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window to create or modify the format and content of the pipe spool drawing.

For ISO Overlay View:

  1. Click to select For ISO Overlay View to manage the ISO Option File:

    Note: The rectangle has an area for the overlying view, which will be hidden once the Pipe Spool Drawing is created.

  2. From the Option File field, browse to the location or enter the name of the iso picture file in Isodraft.

  3. Using the Result Path field, or browse to the location of the storage folder to save the iso picture files.

  4. From the View Type drop-down list, select the iso view type on Isodraft.

  5. In the Text Height field, enter the height of the text displayed on the iso picture file.

  6. In the View Margin field, you can define the area to display the iso picture file using the ISO Overlay View in the format Ex.20, 140, 20 60. (Left, right, top and bottom margin with comma (‘,’). The highlighted red rectangle is displayed in the 3D view.

  7. The highlighted rectangle is displayed in the 3D view. You must now define the area to display the iso picture file.

  8. From the View Margin part of the Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window:

  9. To explicitly define the area to display the iso picture file, select Pick Area. You will be prompted to pick points in the 3D view.

  10. To use an area from a previous pipe spool drawing, select Get Area. You can then locate the required pipe spool drawing.

    Save

    Saves the option file for the creation of the iso picture file.

    Edit

    Updates the exiting iso option file.

    Delete

    Deletes the selected iso option file.

    Returns you to Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window with the plot preview displayed.

For Draft Underlay View:

  1. Click Draft Underlay View to represent the model with a specified direction.

  2. The Create / Modify View part of the Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window is displayed with the Draft Underlay View options.

  3. To name the view, select CE or Auto to name the view as the CE or use the autonaming option. The name is displayed in the View Direction field.

  4. From the View Direction drop-down list, select the view direction or select Derived, you can now derive the view direction from the existing view. The Direction is displayed in the View Direction field.

  5. You must now define the size of the view:

  6. In the View Size field, enter the size of the view in the format: Ex 100,100 (Horizontal, vertical size with comma (,).

  7. To explicitly size the view, select Pick Size, you will be prompted to pick the size in the 3D view.

  8. To define the view size from an existing view, select Get Size. You will be prompted to locate the existing view.

  9. You must now define the view position:

  10. In the View Position field, enter the size of the view in the format: Ex 100,100 (Horizontal, vertical size with comma (,).

  11. To explicitly size the view, select Pick Pos, you will be prompted to pick the position in the 3D view.

    Add

    Adds one view on PADD with the setting defined.

    Edit

    Edits the existing view.

    Delete

    Deletes the selected view.

    Returns you to Pipe Spool Drawing Admin window with the plot preview displayed.
