Dankwardt

The Dankwardt method is only applicable for calculating the resistance of stern trawlers with a length between perpendiculars in the range 25m to 130m, see References 4. The method estimates the model bare hull resistance based on a standard formula and then applies a length-beam, beam-draught and temperature correction to this standard resistance to predict the total bare hull resistance. The Dankwardt method can only be employed for hullforms within the following narrow limits:
