The functionality of the Room Design application provides the means to create, modify and verify the suitability of particular designs or layouts of rooms and their associated elements.
-
The Room Design functionality is launched by selecting Design > Room Design from the main menu.

The specific functionality for the creation of the detail elements and their members is accessed from the Create menu. These elements are:
-
Building Block (BBLOCK)
-
Building Level (BLEVEL)
-
Room (ROOM)
-
Constant Thickness Wall (CTWALL)
-
Ceiling (CEILIN)
-
Doors and Windows (DOOR, WINDOW)
-
Floor Covering (FLRCOV)
-
Insulation Requirement (INSURQ)
-
Furniture, Fittings and Fixtures (ELFITT, HVACFI, FIXTUR, FURNIT)
-
Stair Well (STRWLL)
The modify functionality of the Room Design application is accessed from the Modify > Room Design element drop-down menu and is context sensitive to the Current Element. If the Current Element is an offspring of a Room Design element the application assumes the significant element is the one the user intends to modify.
All the Room Design windows feature docking and allow the user to Create, Modify or Delete the Room Design elements via link labels that will guide the user through the main tasks or steps associated with that task of the Room Design elements and their offspring.
The link labels are context sensitive to the current location in the hierarchy where they become active when situated at the appropriate hierarchical level. When any of the Room Design elements is the current element the relevant link label will highlight for the appropriate Create, Modify or Delete task.
