On an Assembly Drawing it is possible to present a graphical view of the Assembly which reflects the actual Assembly Orientation. This is handled by utilizing the element AXESYM below a View Layer, which has some special attributes as follows:

AsmblR /Assembly

This is a reference to the Assembly from which the orientation will be derived

Axstype MARINE

This determines the axes to be displayed, in this case the Marine Axes X,Y,Z and U,V,W

AXSsize 10

The scale factor of the symbol

The effect of creating an AXESYM below a View Layer is to change the orientation of the View Graphics once an Update Design Graphics command is instigated. Because of this orientation you must be aware that it is not possible to use this view in certain ways:

  1. You must not set the View Drawlist to an IDLI as it must always point directly to the Assembly only.

  2. You should not use the View for the creation of Section Panes as the orientations will not be correct. You should revert to a standard orientated view that means, orientated with respect to the World, when creating section planes.
