Fitting a Range of Sections

When fitting a range of orthogonal curves, the user has the option of fitting a specified range or series of curves or all the curves stored in a directory.

Fit all the sections stored in the design directory

  1. Select the Fairing dialog as in the previous section.

  2. In the Fit page, set the Curve Type to Section, to fit a range of sections.

Fit all the sections in the design directory

  • Select the All option, then the Accept option in the Fit page of the dialog then click Apply.

If the user does not select Accept, the sections will only be drawn in the graphics screen and not stored in the section directory.

The sections fitted using both of the above methods are stored in the section directory. This is the directory where all interpolated and fitted sections are stored. The design directory therefore only contains the original data for the initial sections and once these have been fitted the design directory is not used to interpolate any subsequent curves.
