Use this page to specify the wind coefficients used to calculate the wave drift forces.

Unlike the current and wind coefficients these are required over a range of frequencies as well as headings.

Coefficient Type

Use this drop-list to chosen either

  • Default Supply coefficients

  • Default Drill coefficients

  • Default Tanker coefficients

  • User Defined coefficients

    Note:
This option is not available is the vessel is a semi-submersible, as chosen on the Dynamic Positioning Data - General page.

If User Defined coefficients is chosen, then you may add and delete frequencies as required by using the Add Frequency and Delete Frequency buttons respectively. Frequencies may be deleted by highlighting one or a number of rows. The Delete Frequency button will then be activated so that you can delete the data.

Note:
A maximum of 20 frequencies may be specified.

You may also add and delete headings as required by using the Add Heading and Delete Heading buttons respectively. Headings may be deleted by highlighting one or a number of columns. The Delete Headings button will then be activated so that you can delete the data.

Since there are three sets of coefficients for each heading, you need only select a column on a single coefficient. The corresponding columns for the other coefficients will also be deleted.

Similarly, clicking on the Add Heading button will add three columns (one for each coefficient).

Note:
A maximum of 19 frequencies may be specified.

The Browse button allows you to import a text file containing the wind coefficients. The format of this file is given in Regular Wave Drift Coefficients Data File.
