Description of Snipe Utility

MDS provides the ability to create and modify snipes on support structural members. A snipe is where a support structural member is cut at an angle, such that a corner is removed. For example, Figure 3:1 below shows snipes added to an FT08 framework type.

This feature currently only works with angular sections, that means, steelwork profiles of type SCTN and gtype ANG. Two cases are catered for:

• Snipe on end of leg attached to stiffener

• Snipe on free end of section.
