Surface Area and Weight Utility

The surface area is the exposed area of an HVAC branch, a piece of HVAC or a Inline/Extra line equipment. The surface area and weight of each item is calculated each time an item is created or modified, based upon the information held in the HVAC Catalog.

The Surface Area & Weight utility calculates and displays the surface area and weights of branches, individual pieces of HVAC or equipment:

• From the main menu bar, select Utilities > Surface Area & Weight, to display the Surface Area & Weight. (HVAC) window:

  

  CE	Select to identify the selection in the design explorer as the CE.
  Apply	Select to calculate the surface area and weight of the current element and open the HVAC Command Output window and display the calculated results.
  Dismiss	Closes the Surface Area & Weight. (HVAC) window.

  The HVAC Command Output window displays all the calculated results.

  

  All of the results carried out previously can still be seen in the HVAC Command Output window.
