Content types are the actual contents loaded into compartments in a particular loading condition. Each content type requires an ID, a value for Density (units: tonnes/meter cubed or tons/feet cubed) and the Type to be selected. The Type is selected from the drop-down list, from which 3 options are available:
|
Liquid |
Shifting substance which exhibits free surface moment properties. |
|
Solid |
Non-shifting, dry, substance (no FSM). |
|
Grain |
When selected, a Grain Angle (in degrees) must also be entered, which then determines the upright grain heeling moment. As the vessel heels, the grain heeling moment decreases linearly at the rate of 0.5% per degree. Grain angle is greyed out when one of the other types are selected. When the hold is full, the grain heeling moment will be calculated according to the trimmed ends regulations. |
|
Untrimmed |
As for Grain, except that for full holds, the untrimmed grain regulations apply. |
Within this dialog you can also establish the colour' code, from within a drop-down list, that is to be used, for each content type identification number, thus to provide visual clarification within Loading Diagrams.
