Regular Motion Graphs

Graphs of the regular motions for one or more heading angles, can be plotted against wave frequency, encounter frequency or wavelength. For each motion (heave, surge, sway, pitch, roll and yaw) either the response amplitude operator (RAO) or the excitation force or moment can be displayed for a particular ship speed. The following graph shows a typical regular motion graph, plotting heave response vs. wave frequency for 0, 90 and 180 degrees heading at a speed of 10.0 knots.
