Purpose:

To modify the color of a model in the current drawing.

Instructions:

  1. In the Tools menu, click Model, then Modify Colour.

  2. First, a dialog showing all available colors appears and the user is requested to select the color of choice. It is also possible to collect the color from any existing entity in the drawing: just click Options and indicate the entity from where to collect the color.

  3. Next, the model to modify is identified by the user. The initial proposal is to indicate the model in the drawing, but by clicking Options the way of giving the model(s) to modify can be chosen:

    • By indication

    • By name

    • Envelope

    • By area

  4. Once the model has been identified, by indication or name, the system finds and highlights all occurrences of the model in the whole drawing. If the model is found only in one view, the model is modified after user confirmation. If the model is found in several views, the user is requested to select in which views to apply the modification:

    • All views (where occurring)

    • Confirm one by one

    • Only indicated (if model was indicated)

Selecting Confirm one by one will make it possible for the user to apply the modification in some of the views in which the model is found: each occurrence of the model is highlighted, in turn, and the user is asked to confirm modifying this particular instance. Clicking Options means "Yes-to-All" and Cancel means "No-to-All".

  5. Identifying By Area will make it possible to capture a number of different model subviews in the drawing and is a bit different. Here, only model subviews completely inside a user-given area will be modified (no search for occurrences of same models in other views are done). Please note that Cancel is clicked to return to the way of giving the model(s) choice dialog.

  6. If a single model subview is captured, this one is modified after user confirmation. If several model subviews are captured, the user is requested to choose which model subviews to modify:

    • All captured

    • Confirm one by one

Selecting Confirm one by one will make it possible for the user to apply the modification on some of the captured model subviews: each model is highlighted, in turn, and the user is asked to confirm modifying this particular model.

  7. Clicking Options means "Yes-to-All" and Cancel means "No-to-All".

Options:

When identifying outfitting models by indication, the Drafting default keyword "AUTO_OUTFITTING_LEVEL" has impact on the resulting selection. Please see the documentation of the drafting default keywords for further information.

Result:

Models in the current drawing are modified with respect to color.
