Wall Component Positioning

Wall component positioning is very similar to room component positioning, however, due to the way that components are defined in the database there is a slight difference in methodology.

Walls are made up of paths which have distinct points along them to define each wall segment. It is these points that are used to position the component along the wall.

In a similar manner to the room element the component position is derived from either a pick or an offset, however the origin point for these offsets has to be updated if the user wishes to position the component on any other part of the wall than the first segment. This is achieved by first selecting Position and then using the graphical pick tools to select a point on the wall that the component is to be attached to. The user will then be able to fine tune positioning if necessary with the X, Y (U, V) relative position fields. The following example shows this in practice.

First Pick - Wall Segment 1

Second Pick - Wall Segment 2
