Use the Loft Book Generation Dialog
-
Select the format of the loftbook, either the A4/80 col or A3/132 col option from the Output type dropdown list to generate a printable loftbook, or CSV (Comma Delimited) to generate a file suitable for opening with a spreadsheet application.
The default number of rows and columns per page can be overridden by selecting the appropriate checkbox and entering a new value. The source of the offset data can be from curves or from surface patches.
-
If Curves is selected, then the existing curves are intersected to obtain offset values.
-
If Surface is selected, then offset values are obtained from the surface when crossing orthogonal curves.
-
The Tolerance value is used when checking the distance of 3D curves from the surface. When offset data for a 3D curve is generated, the distance of the offset data from the surface is calculate and the user is warned of any values which exceed the given tolerance.
-
-
Select the set of orthogonal curves that are to be interpolated, using the Radio buttons; Sections, Waterlines or Buttocks, in the Using panel at the bottom of the dialog. These curves will appear down the left of the loftbook page.
-
Select the crossing curves, from the pulldown list in the Crossings panel. The user can also select All, Aft, Fwd or Range.
-
If Range was selected then a list will pop up for the user to pick specific curves to use to cross.
-
If an individual Knuckle curve has been selected, an alternative description to the curve name can be output, by selecting Rename check box and entering the description in the edit box.
-
-
Select the Cross button to calculate the intersections.
This is repeated until all the required curves have been interpolated.
-
Select the Close button to close the output file.
