Create Stair Well

1. To create a stair well, select Create > Stairwell on the Main Layout Tasks window to display the Create Stair Well window.

   

   The Create Stair Well window allows the user to select the Stair Well attributes, set the location and define the geometry.

   New Stair Well for
   Name	Enter an appropriate Name.
   Description	Enter an appropriate Description.
   Function	Enter an appropriate Function.
   Number	Set the required Number using the spin box.
   Location
   Primary Direction	Enter a direction for the Stair Well.
   Elevation	Enter an elevation for the Stair Well.
   Stair Well Offset	Allows the user to graphically pick the offset.
   X	Populated on picking an offset or enter a value.
   Y	Populated on picking an offset or enter a value.
   Design Criteria
   Head Room	Enter a value for the Stair Well head room.
   Head Clearance	Enter a value for the Stair Well head clearance.
   Clearance Width	Enter a value for the Stair Well clearance width.
   Geometry
   Default height	Enter a value for the default height.
   Define Stair Well geometry	Displays the Define Stair Well Boundary window.
   Create Stair Well	Creates a STRWLL element in the database and displays the Modify Stair Well window.
   Back to main Stair Well tasks	Displays the Main Stair Well Tasks window.

2. Having populated the window, selecting Create Stair Well creates a STRWLL element in the database and displays the Modify Stair Well window.

Define Stair Well Boundary

3. Selecting Define Stair Well geometry on the Create Stair Well window displays the Define Stair Well Boundary window.

   

4. Using the Define Stair Well Boundary window, the user can select a boundary shape and set the dimensions of the shape and origin for the Stair Well.

Shapes	Select a shape for the boundary from the drop-down list.
Dimensions	Enter the dimensions for the selected shape.
Origin
Origin point	Set an origin point using the spin box.
Derive Methods
Pick Corner Points	Allows the user to pick points in accordance with the selected shape.
Define Boundary	Applies the definition and displays the Create Stair Well window.
Return	Returns the user to the Create Stair Well window.
