Stiffeners

Depending on the analysis type stiffeners can be represented by different element types:

• Lumped beams

  • see below notes about Lumped beams

• Beam

  • the whole stiffener is considered as beam element (offset or hybrid beam)

  • exported as beam with arbitrary section and automatically calculated element properties

• Shell and truss

  • the web is modelled as shell element and the flange as truss element
