Text Definition (TEXT elements) can be used to store any textual data at almost any level in the database hierarchy.

Create Text Definition

  1. Select Create, then select Text from the main window drop-down.

    The Text Definition form opens:

  2. Type over unset in the first input field to name the element.

  3. Type the required text string into the Text field. This data, which is stored in the STEX attribute of the Text element, is restricted to a maximum of 120 characters.

Note: Do not enclose the text between apostrophes (as is the standard PDMS convention) unless you want these to form part of the text string.

  4. Use the drop-down to change the form to a modify mode.

  5. Click Apply to create the text element

  6. Close the form by clicking the X on the top right, or click Dismiss.

  7. To return to the Text Definition form, select Modify, then select Text from the main window drop-down.
