Producing Fixed Weight Subsets

A fixed weight subset is made up of one or more fixed weight items contributing to the vessel's total deadweight for specific voyage conditions. A new fixed weight subset can be named by you and added to the Loading Condition dialog box, and Calc will automatically create an input dialog box of the same name and which can then be entered through selecting the Edit button. Fixed weights are individually directly user-defined in a similar manner to lightship weight components in that although they can be distributed over a given longitudinal extent for longitudinal strength calculations (refer to Lightship Definition), they are assumed to occupy no "physical" space. Consequently, the position of one weight item is not restricted by the local position of any others. That is to say that Calc does not consider the possibility of clashes. Also similar to lightship weights, fixed weight items can be given a free surface moment by you.

A running summary of the total fixed weights within a sub-set, together with the position of the overall centre of gravity, and the total FSM, is displayed at the bottom of the Input dialog.
