Hull and Outfitting

Solid of Revolution (SREV )

This primitive is generated by rotating a user-defined 2D shape, known as a Loop (SLOO), whose outline is defined by a set of member elements called Vertices (SVER), through an angle about an axis. The swept angle must be in the range -360 to +360 degrees, 360 degrees giving a solid which is axially symmetrical.

In addition to the attributes defining its position, each SVER can have a radius which applies a convex or concave fillet to the loop at that point.

SREV has particular attributes as follows:

  • PX, PY, PZ—coordinates of origin of SLOO.

  • PAAX, PBAX—directions of axes of SLOO (these will define coordinate system for SVERs).

  • PANGLE—angle through which 2D SLOO is rotated to form 3D SREV.

SLOO has no special attributes.

SVER has particular attributes as follows:

  • PX, PY—coordinates of vertex.

  • PRAD—fillet radius of loop at vertex position.
