Figure 3:24. Edit Dialog - Curve page.

Having projected the Plines the system presents the user with the Clines to examine in sequence. The user should normally only modify one of the projected Clines to minimize the extent of any changes. Due to the projection method, in order to fair the Cline the user has 3 approaches, adjusting vertices, adding/removing knots, or automatic fairing.

When fairing the user should try to minimize the amount of change otherwise the resulting 3D curve can be substantially different. To this end, when adjusting vertices it is preferable to specify the amount of movement for either the U or V axis rather than to adjust by the cursor. In addition, when removing knots the user should remove as few as possible as the changes to the curve can be substantial.

The vertices and knots can be modified via the Curve page on the Edit dialog. This is opened by the .

The user should be careful when fairing, not to alter the end vertices as this will cause a failure in merging the Clines.

After accepting the first Cline projection view the second Cline projection view will automatically be displayed, which can be faired in the same manner. When the second Cline projection view is accepted the final merged Pline will be generated.
