Patches can be output in three formats for use in other systems. Lines allows individual or multiple patches to be output.

Output patches

  1. Select the Output page from the Surface Patches dialog.

  2. Select the patches which are to be output from the list (or select the All toggle to output all patches) and select the desired output format.

The formats available are:

File

Allows each patch to be output to individual ASCII files containing a mesh of points (patches of type REGULAR only).

Iges

Patches can be output in IGES 128 format. The selected patches will be output to one file. Flat (planar) patches generated by the Patch and Curve Editor cannot currently be output to IGES

VRML

Selected patches are faceted and output to a VRML file for viewing in any VRML viewer supporting file format version 2.0. Flat (planar) patches generated by the Patch and Curve Editor cannot currently be output to VRML
