Conditions for Comparison of Parts

The following tolerances and conditions are used when parts of different types are compared to each other for equality. They are currently glued into the program and cannot be changed by the user.

Plates

No comparisons are made and each plate gets a unique position number within the current scope.

Brackets

The following conditions are applied when two brackets are compared to each other.

  • Area difference <=200 mm2

  • Thickness difference <=0.1 mm

  • Designation (name) should be equal

  • Type of profiles on brackets and their parameters should be equal (within a tolerance of 0.1 mm)

  • Location side of stiffener/flange should be the same

  • Material quality should be the same

  • Ditto Surface treatment

  • Ditto Destination

  • Bracket arms lengths should be equal within a tolerance of 0.5 mm

  • Notch arrangement should be equal

  • Bevelling along edges should be equal

  • Excess along edges should be equal within 0.5 mm

Profiles (Stiffener, Flange, Pillar, Stiffeners/Flanges on brackets)

  • Both profiles curved? - If so, check if distance between start and end points are equal within 2 mm.

  • Length difference <=2 mm.

  • Profile type should be equal.

  • Profile parameters should be equal within 0.1 mm.

  • Endcut type and parameters should be equal within 0.5 mm/degree.

  • Quality should be the same.

  • Excess should be equal within 1 mm.

  • Bevels should be equal.

  • The number of/ type/ designation/ mirror code/ distance from start of profile (<=0.5 mm difference)/ inclination (<=0.5 degree) of holes, notches and cutouts should be the same. If the HNC are defined as reference to another part for example, seam, the profiles will get separate posno.

  • Surface treatment should be equal.

  • Ditto Destination.

  • Ditto main orientation of stiffener description line (should be oriented along the same main axis of the ship coordinate system).

  • Parameters for knuckling should be the same within 0.5 mm.

Clips

  • Thickness difference <=0.1 mm.

  • Designation equal.

  • Length difference <=1 mm.

  • Breadth difference <=1 mm.

  • Quality should be equal.

  • Ditto Surface treatment.

  • Ditto Destination.

  • Contour length difference <=4 mm.

  • Area difference <=200 mm2.

Doubling

  • Ref. type equal.

  • Quality equal.

  • M1 and M2 difference <=0.1 mm.

  • Both closed.

  • Thickness difference <=0.1 mm.

  • Bevel should be equal.

  • Area difference <=200 mm2.

Spigot

  • Hole name should be equal.

  • Spigot should be equal.
