A profile in AVEVA Marine is a bar with constant cross-section along the whole bar - apart form the treatment at the ends of the profile (in AVEVA Marine called endcutting). In principle the endcuts may only reduce the cross-section, that means, cut off material from the constant cross-section bar. However, there are some exceptions to this. Certain endcut types for flat bars may actually expand outside the specified size of the flat bar. However, this is an exception and can be used only if the profile is converted to a plate part for manufacture.
