Hull and Outfitting

Using Different Hullforms

If at any time a new Barehull is available, for example, the offset data definition can now be replaced with a faired spline surface, then simply use Envelope Definition dialog and change the surface selected in the Barehull panel. Once Modify has been clicked the internals will need to be regenerated to take account of the change to the envelope.

An alternative approach is to transfer an entire or partial internal arrangement from one envelope to another. This is possibly more suitable when the envelope definitions are radically different. Using the Compartment View tree, internal structure can be dragged from one envelope to another, causing it to be regenerated for it’s new parent. For example selecting one envelope and dragging it over the name of another envelope will transfer the entire internal structure. (This is the equivalent of using the command: ENVELOPE <new envelope> /REPLACE /ALL <old envelope>.)
