Data Bar - Curves Grid

  • Last UpdatedSep 04, 2023

The Curves grid provides control over attributes that apply to entire active curves.

Curves grid column functions

The contents of the columns of the Curves grid are as follows:

Column

Description

Curve

The name of the curve. This is read-only, as it is used for identification purposes.

Correspondence

Fitted and Centripetal both mean that the curve is currently fitted to its data points (the two methods produce slightly different shaped curves between data points). None means that the curve is not fitted to its data points, so editing them will not affect the curve. Editing control vertices directly forces this correspondence to None.

Visibility

Turn the display of the whole curve on and off

Control Points

Turn the display of control points on and off.

Data Points

Turn the display of data points on and off.

Split Points

Turn the display of split points and curve regions on and off.

Curvature

Turn the display of curvature tufts on and off.

Colour

The visible colour of the curve.

Cells that do not accept user input are greyed out.

The display controls are toggled by clicking in the check boxes. The Correspondence entries are changed by clicking in the cell and selecting from the dropdown list.

A curve's control vertices, data points and curvature tufts will only be displayed if the curve itself is visible. Displaying split points disables the display of data points, control points and curvature.

Select groups of cells by holding <Shift> (for contiguous groups) or <Ctrl> (non-contiguous groups) in the normal Windows manner.

Pop-up menus are available for controlling the display of attributes of groups of curves. Click the Right Mouse button on a cell in the relevant column to obtain these menus, described below.
