Estimation of Ship Resistance in Deep Water

The Holtrop & Mennen method, References 1 and 2, for estimation of the ship resistance has been used in the program for naval vessels. The ship resistance is calculated at different speeds, then the ship total resistance is fitted with a third order polynomial as given in equation. The fitted resistance equation is then used in the simulation loop. This resistance module also estimates the thrust deduction and the wake factor.
