Popup Menu in Initial Design Surface

The popup menu’s available options are listed below:

BOW

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal YZ plane and places the User in front of the bow.

STERN

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal YZ plane and places the User behind the stern.

PORT

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XZ plane and places the User on the port side.

STARBOARD

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XZ plane and places the User on the starboard side.

KEEL

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XY plane and places the User under the keel.

DECK

If selected, sets the view orientation to an orthogonal XY plane and places the User above the main deck.

ISOMETRIC

If selected, sets the view orientation to the predefined angles (Azimuth and Elevation) defined in the Graphics Features page of the Options dialog.

PERSPECTIVE

If selected, sets the currently active graphics window’s projection to perspective.

WORKPLANE

If selected, assigns the current work plane defined by the working coordinate system, to the currently active graphics window.

ZOOM IN

If selected, the User is prompted to digitise (using the mouse) a rubber band (rectangle). The new view is centered at the centre of the rubber band and zoomed in by the ratio of the current view to the ratio of the rubber band.

ZOOM OUT

If selected, the User is prompted to digitise (using the mouse) a rubber band (rectangle). The new view is entered at the centre of the rubber band and zoomed out by the ratio of the current view to the ratio of the rubber band.

RESET

If selected, resets the view in the currently active graphics window to its original size.

REDRAW

Refreshes the display in the currently active graphics window.

REDRAW ALL

Refreshes the display of all graphics windows.

RECENTRE

Prompts the User to select a vertex in the graphics view to set as the center (the point about which rotation is taken).

SHADED

If selected, sets the graphics window mode to shaded.

HLR

If selected, sets the graphics window mode to HLR (remove any hidden lines).

Note:
Shaded mode will take precedence over HLR mode.

LIGHTWORKS

If selected, sets the currently active graphics window to use LightWorks for photo realistic rendering.

Important:
Only available if an appropriate licence is has been purchased.

IDENTIFY

If selected, the User is prompted to interactively pick from one of the graphics views, the element to be identified. Highlights the selected element in the graphics view and displays its name in the Output window.

IDENTIFY FLASH

If selected, the User is prompted to interactively pick from one of the graphics views, the element to be identified and flashed. The selected element’s name is displayed in the Output Window and graphics window, which also highlights any external boundaries.

Important:
Useful when checking whether several entities have been joined correctly. Primarily to check the integrity of the surface to be used as an envelope for generation of internal structure (through Compartment).

IDENTIFY RANGE

If selected, the User is prompted to digitize (using the mouse) a rubber band (rectangle) within which all elements are to be identified. Highlights the selected elements in the graphics view and displays their names in the Output window.

LAYERS...

Brings up the View Options dialog, with the Layers page active. This page is used to control the layers to be displayed by this graphics window.

OPTIONS...

Brings up the View Options dialog, which is used to control the basic appearance (including settings for display, modes and layers) of the currently active graphics window.
