Cabletray Volume

The Cable Tray Volumes window allows you to select an existing cabletray and create volumes with dimensions extracted from the tray members. Additionally, you can also select a zone to create new elements. You can also set some cableway branch attributes.

The software first checks for any changes in tray width and change in direction on a TEE or a CROSS, as this will require a new cableway branch to be created. For each cabletray, a new CWAY (Cableway) and CWBRAN (Cableway Branch) elements are created under CWAY. The populated list is then passed onto a method where, for each change in direction (BEND/ELBOW) on the cabletray, a new POINTR is added to the RPATH of the cableway branch. For each CROSS or TEE on a cabletray, a new RATTA is created under the CONSEQ element of the cableway branch. If a TEE or a CROSS has a leave point at an angle (that is, 3), then it automatically creates a new branch. The VWidth of the new Cableway Branch is extracted from the ABORE attribute of the first element of the segregated list.

  1. Select Utilities > Cable Trays Volumes to display the Cable Tray Volumes window with the Cable Tray List tab displayed as default.

Note: You must be at a level on or below a Zone.

Refresh Grid and Track CE are common to both the Cable Tray List and Cableway Branch List tabs.

    Refresh Grid

Clicking Refresh Grid re-displays either grid to reflect any changes made that are not updated automatically.

    Track CE

The Cable Tray Volumes window lists the cabletrays from the current zone and also displays the Head Connection and Tail Connection of each branch.

  2. Use Select Level to choose to switch between World, Site, or Zone levels in order to load trays for the selected level.

Right-clicking within the grid displays a pop-up menu.

  4. Using the Set Cableway Branch Attributes fields, you can set some attributes prior to creating the volumes.

    1. (Optional) Select Reset Fields to reset the values for attributes back to the default settings.

    2. (Optional) Bend Radius can be set to Auto or Manual. If set to Manual, a bend radius must be entered in the field.

To create the volumes, an association group with the purpose set to TBAS dedicated to store associations between old cabletray elements and new cabletray elements must exist. If the association group does not exist, an error message is displayed informing you to create the required association group. Once you select OK, the organize Association Store window is displayed and allows you to create the required association group.

When the association group exists a Confirm window is displayed requesting you to confirm cableway volumes for the selected cabletray branches are to be created.

Volumes for the tray have been created successfully.

Volumes for the tray are not present.
