This dialog is used to control the way that patches are generated. It is launched in a number of ways:

  • Select or PATCH \ BUILD SURFACE...

  • Select REBUILD SURFACE from the Patch Group Node Popup.

  • Click the Right Mouse button over a patch in a graphics view and Select OPTIONS... from the popup menu.

  • Double-click the Left Mouse button over a patch in a graphics view.

If the option (All Patches) is selected from the list Patch ID all selections made under this dialog are applied to all patches when the Apply button is clicked. Alternatively, individual patches may be selected.

The Patch Options dialog has four buttons associated with it. Clicking Defaults applies the settings last applied when building (All Patches) to each individual patch. The Rotate button is only active when an individual patch is selected from the Patch ID list and that patch is three-sided, that is it has a degenerate edge. Clicking Rotate then Apply moves the degeneracy to another corner of the patch, which may improve fairness. The Apply button applies any changes to the Patch Option settings. The Close button closes the dialog.

When (All Patches) is selected, the Rebuild Network checkbox is enabled. If selected then the boundary intersection network will be recalculated before rebuilding the surface. If it is not selected, then the surface will be refitted without recalculating the intersection network.

for further information see Building the Surface.
