Trim and Connect Selected Sections

Trim and Connect Selected Sections allows a group of section elements to be cut back or extended to a selected section element, and connected to that section in a single operation.

Note: Trim and Connect Selected Sections can only be used with angle sections (GTYP ANG).

1. Select the elements to be modified and connected in the 3D graphical view.

   

2. Click Trim and Connect Selected Sections.

   You are prompted to Pick Owner Element.

3. Pick the owner element in the 3D view.

   

   Ends of the selected sections are cut back or extended to the owner element, and a joint is created at each intersection between selected section elements and target element.

   A joint specification will be set on new joints created by this function if a suitable joint can be found in the catalogue. If a suitable joint is not available in the catalogue then a simple joint connection is made as it would be if the Connect > Connect menu function in the Beams & Columns application had been used.
