Loading Condition Dialog - Intact.
This dialog enables you to establish the name, that is the Title, for the individual deadweight loading condition, (hence the name of the icon being singular rather than plural), that is to be created, for example as required in the vessel’s Trim and Stability book. The Title that you inputs then becomes the node name that is shown in the Application tree. Generally a number of different deadweight loading conditions need to be created and analyzed within a ship project and thus you needs to replicate this function in the tree by adding the necessary number of nodes having this capability, equal to the anticipated number of deadweight loading conditions, and then providing each with a unique title, typically one corresponding to the related loading condition.
The Intact Tab Sheet dialog contains two main lists, one for Fixed Weights and one for Load Groups, the latter relates to the group of Compartments that are simultaneously loaded and can include tanks and holds. These lists contain the identifying names of groups of items and from which you can select the particular combination of groups of items, both fixed weights and compartment contents, that collectively comprise the total deadweight material and its distribution in the vessel for the designated loading condition. Selection of an active set is made with the screen cursor being positioned over the high-lighted box at the end of the set name and clicking the left-hand button, and the system responds by placing a tick in the box. A previous active set selection can be de-activated in a similar manner.
It is to be noted that some items in these lists may not be selected for a particular deadweight condition and may thus seem to be redundant. However by creating a number of possible groups, representing both fixed weight and compartments conditions, in a systematic and integrated manner and then by simple copy commands sharing such data between a number of Loading Condition dialogs, followed by local selection and edit if required, expedites the overall process.
It is left to you as to whether or not deadweight items are best classified as either fixed items or compartment items, although the designation of such will generally be natural to you and thus left to his discretion. Some cargo, for example ro-ro vehicles, would be treated as fixed weights.
Initially the Fixed Weight and Compartment lists will be empty and by clicking the Add button a set name is automatically created with a simple default name and unique identifying number. you can then edit or change this name, directly within the list, to one that is more meaningful and useful to him. The Delete button can be used to remove a set from a list.
If you then click the Edit button, for a selected set name in the appropriate Fixed Weight or Load Groups lists, you are presented with a dialog in which he can create, or edit, the relevant component deadweight data, as described in Fixed Weights Dialog (Deadweight Components) and Loading Set Dialog, (Deadweight Components). The dialog boxes, for both Fixed Weights and for Loading Set, are given the same set name as was selected in the list, thus you may create several, uniquely named, sets in each case.
If you select the Container load drop-down menu, then he is presented with a list of names of specific container on-board loading conditions, that he will have established earlier, and from which he can select the single appropriate active set. If he has not created any container loading conditions then nothing will appear.
